Monday, May 25
1pm-3pm

New media technologies in the form of blogs, micro blog sites like Twitter, and social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace have changed the landscape of media and communication. The Internet is rapidly replacing newspapers, television, and radio as the place where most people get their news.

Knowing how to utilize new media technology is becoming crucial for running effective campaigns; building fundraising capacity and increasing membership. Whether you aren’t sure exactly what a blog is, but are pretty sure you should have one, or you are already on Facebook and Twitter, but want to know how to get more out of new media technologies to further your publicity goals, this training will help.

Our New Media 101 training will provide you with a basic foundation in new media technologies and offers strategies for incorporating new media into your everyday operations and publicity campaigns. This two-hour training will also include a Q&A session and a hands-on training with Facebook.

Hosted by The Mintwood Media Collective
Trainings are held at 1858 Mintwood Place #4 NW Washington DC 20001
(near the Woodley Park/Adams Morgan Metro on the Red line)
